Let’s talk about logo variations! ✨

Creating a brand for your business or yourself is SO much more than just one logo.

You might have heard the term “logo variation” but might not be sure what that means or why you need it.

Read on to learn more about logo variations, how to use them, and why it’s important to use them to strengthen the cohesiveness of your brand presence!

WHAT IS A LOGO VARIATION?

Logo variations are additional types of logos to represent your brand. the point is that your logo variations are recognizable and fit within your branding, but give you options to use throughout your brand presence.

Let's walk through different logo variations!

Logo Variations - Primary Logo

PRIMARY LOGO

Your primary logo will be the one you use most. It should include your full

business name. Likely places to use your primary logo include: website headers, marketing materials, business cards, brand collateral, etc.

Logo Variations - Secondary Logo

SECONDARY LOGO

Your secondary logo is generally a different shape or layout than your primary logo but using consistent colors, typography, or graphics. If you don't include your tagline on your primary logo, this is a great place for it.

Logo Variations - Brand Mark

BRAND MARK

Your brand mark is a simplified but still identifiable version of your logo. Brand marks have become essential to your branding because they are more prominently used across social media profiles.

Logo Variations - Brand Element

BRAND ELEMENTS

If your primary logo includes a graphic or icon then it can be pulled out and used on its own as a brand element. Another option is using initials from your company name and it's nice to have several cohesive options to use throughout your branding presence.

Logo variations are an important part of your full brand identity no matter what size or type of business you are! Other key elements to your brand identity include your color palette, typography and fonts, and having a style guide to help you stay on brand with everything you do!

All of these elements will contribute to building a strong brand which brings so much value beyond your products or services and allows people to learn to trust your company though your brand.
